Williams Nicolson announces appointment of Chairman and three Special Advisors

Nick Bowers has joined the firm as Chairman. Phil McManus, Paul Kelly and Paul Newman have joined as Special Advisors.

Nick joins as Chairman and as a Founding Shareholder. He has had a 34-year investment banking career in equities and corporate finance. Nick held a range of leadership positions in the City, including Head of UK Equities at Goldman Sachs and Head of Corporate Broking at Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.

Phil McManus has worked in the field of Corporate Communications for over 20 years, initially in consultancy and then in house, working as a Communications Director for Vodafone, Sky plc, Rolls Royce and Worldpay. At Vodafone, Phil was part of the team involved in managing the consolidation and integration following the acquisition of Mannesmann for over £110bn. At Worldpay she led the charge during the IPO in 2015.

Paul Kelly brings 35 years of European corporate finance transaction experience covering M&A, IPO’s and leverage finance. During that time, he has worked at PwC, 3i, Lazard, Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse, where he was Co-Chair of the European Investment Banking Committee. He holds several finance and communications advisory roles.

Paul Newman co-founded ICAP ENERGY Ltd (part of ICAP plc) and led the business for 26 years as CEO and then Chairman. He is a Governor and a Council Member Trustee of the Ditchley Foundation and a serving Honorary Group Captain with 601 Squadron, and an Ambassador for The Royal Air Forces Association.
