Steffan has over 25 years’ experience in strategic communications and investor relations.
A proven entrepreneur, Steffan founded a successful communications firm in 2001 that was sold to Publicis Groupe in 2013.
He enjoys an unparalleled network and is a former Chairman of the Public Relations and Communications Association.
Steffan is also City AM’s resident wine columnist.
Louise Nicolson
Founder and Partner
Louise is a former journalist who launched, grew and sold a communications consultancy awarded Business Insider Scotland’s Employer of the Year.
A certified business coach with over 25 years’ experience in strategic communications and change management, Louise studied Business Sustainability Management at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
Also a twice-published author, Louise’s first book, The Entrepreneurial Myth: a Manifesto for Real Business, reached number seven in WHSmith business charts.
Mary Walsh
Chair
Mary was communications director for Eurostar and led the communications for Lloyds Banking Group.
Mary is on the Board of bereavement charity Cruse and is an advisor to the Government-sponsored FTSE Women Leaders Review focused on increasing the representation of women on FTSE 350 Boards.
Stephen Aulsebrook
Special Advisor
Stephen is a Senior Advisor at leading global independent investment bank, Moelis & Company. He also held senior roles at Close Brothers Corporate Finance, DC Advisory, Hill Samuel and Bankers Trust.
He has over 40 years of European investment banking experience with an extensive network of relationships in EMEA, the U.S. and Asia across leading corporations and institutional investors
Phil McManus
Special Advisor
Phil was Communication Director for Vodafone, Sky plc, Rolls Royce and Worldpay.
At Vodafone, Phil helped manage consolidation and integration following the £100bn acquisition of Mannessman. At Worldpay, she led the charge during the IPO in 2015.
Paul Kelly
Special Advisor
Paul qualified as an accountant at PwC, and was an Investment Associate at 3i.
He then moved into investment banking, becoming a Director at Lazard in London and Paris and then Managing Director in London at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse.
Monica Sood
Chief Operating Officer and Partner
Monica is responsible for the finance and operational excellence of Williams Nicolson, partnering with the founders to drive performance and growth.
She has 15 years’ experience in strategic finance and operations. She trained at Deloitte as a chartered accountant before working at AXA Investment Managers and Deutsche Bank.
Monica is also an entrepreneur and manages her own dance company.
William Barker
Partner
William brings over a decade of experience in financial and corporate communications and investor relations.
As a board-level advisor, with transaction experience including domestic and international M&A and IPOs, he has assisted clients with corporate reporting, profile raising and special situations across the professional, financial and business services, pensions, insurance, property and FinTech sectors.
Lucy Walton
Data Director
Lucy has a doctorate and over 10 years’ experience in academic research, including qualitative and quantitative methods.
Most recently, she co-led a world-renowned research programme at University of Salford and developed a process called Research Impact to better engage stakeholders.
She has published her research in high impact journals and delivers training in research methodologies and statistics.
Fraser Schurer-Lewis
Principal
Fraser has over nine years’ experience in strategic communications, creative marketing and public affairs.
He has managed multi-market campaigns for blue chip corporates, high growth businesses and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
Fraser was awarded the PRCA’s Rising Star of the Year Award at the PRCA City and Financial Awards 2020.
Esme Roberts
Consultant
Esme has over eight years experience and has delivered several communications strategies for large-scale regeneration projects including Elephant and Castle town centre and Anfield in Liverpool.
As a crisis communications lead for a number of prestigious real estate clients, Esme has managed high-profile incidents, and developed plans to minimise and mitigate reputational risk.
Lara Stancich
Principal
Lara has delivered strategy and transformational change projects in UK, US, New Zealand, Angola and Azerbaijan, and has deep expertise in the energy sector, sustainability and strategic workplace design.
Lara received her MBA from Warwick Business School in 2021, and holds an MA in International Relations and History, and an MSc in Information Systems Management.
Megan Rose
Finance Officer
Megan has nine years’ experience administering accounting operations and financial analysis.
Megan is responsible for the day-to-day management of financial transactions and reporting at Williams Nicolson.
Megan also owns and runs her own mobile catering business, providing a range of services for social and corporate events.
Max Kelly
Consultant
Max has almost seven years agency experience in corporate communications including handling busy press offices, profile raising and protecting reputations.
Max has worked with a wide remit in a number of sectors including financial services, private equity and automotive clients.
Madeleine McCubbine
Analyst
Madeleine recently graduated from Durham University where she read history. Her dissertation research and analysis proved a deep understanding of the power of well-crafted communication.
Madeleine supports the delivery of Williams Nicolson’s strategic communications programmes.
